The general carpenter apprenticeship consists of three in-class blocks of school: basic, intermediate, and advanced. Apprentices registered with the MLITSD can take their training at Carpenters Local 249 Training Centre
This 12-week course will take applicants through the basics of health and safety. Applicants will gain Level 1 of the general carpenter apprenticeship.
Job Readiness Programs are four-week programs that cover specific skills of the general carpenter trade. Participants take essential safety courses and receive job-specific training. Successful participants receive a four-week placement with a Union contractor.
